Chères présidentes, chers présidents,
Notre École connait un moment important de son histoire. La contingence. Pour la première fois dans notre École, le cartel ad hoc de la NLS a nommé une AE. Cette nomination doit être considérée comme acte qui s’inscrit logiquement dans l’histoire de notre École. Il suffit pour s’en convaincre de lire ce qui se passe aujourd’hui avec la boussole du débat mené par Jacques-Alain Miller en 2013 à Athènes[1].
Il fallait donc marquer ce moment en posant un acte, l’organisation d’un événement qui aura lieu à Gand le 29 septembre prochain.
Cette rencontre à laquelle sont tout spécialement invités les membres de la NLS, ne doit pas être considérée comme une journée consacrée à la passe, ni aux AE. Il s’agira par contre de nouer trois éléments, trois événements, trois points importants relatifs à la formation du psychanalyste orientée par l’enseignement de Lacan :
- le témoignage des deux AE en exercice dans notre École,
- le prochain congrès de la NLS dont le thème est (logiquement) celui de « L’interprétation »,
- et la place des corps dans la cure analytique, point fort du débat de Tel-Aviv.
La contingence, c’est ce nouage qui se forme aujourd’hui. Il y a une différence entre le hasard et la contingence, c’est que dans la contingence, la responsabilité du sujet est engagée. Nous sommes au un par un intimement responsable de ce qui se noue aujourd’hui. Il ne faudra pas laisser passer notre chance.
Je m’adresse donc à vous, chères présidentes, chers présidents, pour que vous répercutiez l’information concernant cette Avant-Première à Gand, dans votre communauté, sur vos listes et dans votre langue.

Our School is going through an important moment in its history. Contingency. For the first time in our School, the ad hoc cartel of the NLS has appointed an AS. This nomination must be considered as an act that fits logically into the history of our School. To convince ourselves of this, it is enough to read what is happening today from the point of view of the debate led by Jacques-Alain Miller in 2013 in Athens[1].
It was thus necessary to mark this moment with an act: the organization of an event which will take place in Ghent on September 29th.
This conference, to which members of the NLS are especially invited, should not be considered as a day dedicated to the pass or to the AS. It will rather be a question of knotting three elements, three events, three important points relating to the training of the psychoanalyst oriented by Lacan's teaching:
- The testimony of the two AS in practice in our School,
- the next Congress of the NLS whose theme is (logically) that of “Interpretation,”
- and the place of the body in the analytic cure, which was the strong point of the debate in Tel Aviv.
Contingency is the knot being formed today. The difference between happenstance and contingency is that in contingency, the responsibility of the subject is engaged. One by one, we are each intimately responsible for what is happening today. We must not miss our chance.
I therefore write to you, dear Presidents, to ask you to pass on this information about the Premiere Event in Ghent to your community, on your lists and in your language.
